Glaston-Ferret and Recording News!

This Saturday (28th) we'll be headlining at the the Glaston-Ferret mini-festival in Preston. Hosted by well known music venue and boozer The Mad Ferret they'll be 20 acts over two days on two stages. They're also turfing the inside of the venue and there's the promise of DJ's, onsite food, an ice cream van, fire-eaters, sword swallowers and plenty of booze on tap. So if you're bored of watching the Glasto coverage on telly come down. See gig section for more details.

This last week has seen us commence recording five new tracks. Mike's been in the studio and laid down the drums and we're just getting to work on the rest of the parts. If progress is smooth we hope to have them finished fairly soon but you never know.....

It's Been a While But....

On Monday 28th April we will be playing live at Manchester 235 Casino as part of the Manic Monday broadcast live on 96.2FM The Revolution.

To gain entry to the casino you have to bring along Photo ID.....it's £5 on the night but if you email Jackie at The Revolution by Monday you can get on the FREE guestlist. Also on the bill are top local bands Carlis Star and Whiskycats.

Then on Friday the 2nd we'll be playing the rather excellent Blowout @ The Chorlton Irish Club. With Delphic, The Mutineers and a Mike Joyce DJ set alongside resident Blowout DJs. Doors at 9.30pm

aA 8th Birthday Party!!

Our label Akoustik Anarkhy is celebrating 8 years of parties, gigs, releases and general mayhem and is throwing a party in Manchester on Friday 26th October at the place it all began, The Star and Garter. We will be breaking from our autumnal hiatus to perform along with the wonderfully bonkers Working For a Nuclear Free City and new aA act LA Pals. With DJ's Lego, Soft Priest and YoungWill manning the decks across two floors . View Poster.

Limited advance tickets are available to order from here. However, there will be tickets available on the door- just make sure you get down early to avoid disappointment.

This will be our first gig with our new drummer Mike and in all likelihood will be the only Manchester show we do until the end of the year as we concentrate on writing, rehearsing and recording. Please come down and join us for what promises to be a great party. Cheers.

'Innocence / Short Circuit' out 30th July...

This coming Monday sees the release of our brand new aa side single 'Innocence / Short Circuit' through Akoustik Anarkhy Recordings. Available nationwide on 7" vinyl from all good record stores, including the aA Shop and Piccadilly records, and to download from the likes of iTunes and Virgin Digital.

Already receiving plenty of airplay and some top reviews Steve Lamacq has been kind enough to select 'Innocence' as his Single of The Week for his 6Music show, (w/b 30th July) so listen out each day for a play.

Our debut album 'Late Night Shopping' is available now on lp, cd and download from all good record stores, the aA shop and iTunes etc.

A busy week or so...

Thought it was about time we updated the site....it's been a while.

Tonight we're playing the Star and Garter with the Longcut and Morton Valance plus an array of aA DJs across two floors. All advance tickets have sold out but there will be a limited amount available on the door but make sure you get there early to avoid disappointment.

Earlier in the week we recorded a live session for Xfm Manchester on the Clint Boon show, we performed three live tracks and had a bit of a chat with Clint about our album and upcoming shows etc. Click here for a listen.

We also recorded a live session for 96.2 The Revolution on Tuesday which will be broadcast next week on Cottee's Evening Session. I think they'll be playing one track each night at about 8pm from Tuesday to Friday.

30th July sees the release of our new double a side single 'Innocence / Short Circuit'. Available on Ltd Ed 7" vinyl from all good record stores and to download now from the likes of iTunes etc.
